Jaipur the capital city of the northern Indian state of Rajasthan
is also known as the "Pink City",the city is called so because the city is mainly painted with the color pink.All the ancient palaces and monuments are built with the traditional pink stone.
It remains the only city in the world that symbolises the nine divisions of the universe, through nine rectangular sectors. It is for these reasons that Jaipur has been included on the popular tourist "Golden Triangle" of Delhi-Jaipur-Agra.
Old Jaipur city is surrounded by seven gates that were built as to provide protection to the people of the city and to scan the people entering and leaving the city. Jaipur is enriched with several numbers of architectural monuments that were built in the bygone era. These monuments now rub shoulders with sprawling huge towers and office buildings that are coming up to support the boom in the economy of the state of Rajasthan.
