Mount Abu is located in the south-western corner of Rajasthan. It is also one of the major pilgrimage sites of India for both Hindu as well as Jain religions. Besides the temples and sites of historical importance, Mt. Abu is also rich in natural scenic beauties. Among foreign tourists, opinion tends to be divides as to whether or not Mount Abu merits a visit. While some welcome the fresh air, panoramic views over the plains and good food on offer at the many restaurants, others find the tacky middle-class Indian culture less than relaxing. One sight, however, tips the scales - at least for art and history buffs. Mt Abu's main tourist attractions are its numerous temples. Situated at the southern tip of the Aravali range the hill retreat owes its cool climate to its rich flora covering the entire hillside that includes coniferous trees and flowering shrubs
